screen capture

Since a while, it has no effect pressing the "Prt Sc" button. The
contents of the screen is not copied to the clipboard.
The clipboard should work, since text copying is no problem at all.
Screen capturing would probably be okay, since I can capture the
screen using a screen capture utility (but it is shareware).
Does anyone have an idea what might be the problem, or how I can try
to fix this.

Thanks in advance,

Roderik

Use either Alt-PrtSc or Ctrl-PrtSc, then paste into your application.

Neither methods of getting a screen shot works with my XP either. Is it operator trubs or is something wrong with my Windows program??? Mine behaves just the way Roderick is saying his does.

I don't know. Maybe someone else can respond to the question. I have used
this system with various versions of Windows, including Win98 and Win
XP-Home Edition. I simply click someplace on the screen, press Alt (or
Ctrl), then PrtSc (like a toggle, with the original key still held down --
but not exactly a simultaneous pressure). Then I go to my application (most
often WordPerfect), click anywhere on the screen to activate it, and then
paste. Voila! I always get a perfect screen shot.

OK, Gang---mystery solved. I was reading in another area of this forum and found the answer.

What we do after pressing PRT SCRN is to open either Paint or Wordpad. Got to EDIT at the top and then PASTE. Your screen shot will show up in the display pane nicely.

It was operator trubs after all, just as suspected.

Anyway, glad to past this bump in the road.

Well, not for me. If I haven't copied something else to the clipboard,
Paste is even disabled in the menu because the clipboard keeps empty.
I am now using IrfanView, which works fine.

I think my Prt Sc key is just out of order. I shouldn't throw my beer
over it too much ;-)

But, does anyone know if I can change the key associated with print
screen (without a utility). Maybe in the windows registry or
something?
