On one of our machine [Win XP, AMD 64, 512 RAM, NVIDEA Gforce 6100]
when I press 'Shift+Del' or sometimes just 'del' the screen will blank
for a second.
Does anyone have any ideas?

1. Make sure you don't have any extraneous Nvidia programs running at
startup. After installing Nvidia drivers, you will get a desktop
control app in the taskbar that can cause problems. Use msconfig to
disable them. If you see NvCplDaemon, NvMcTray and Nwiz on the Startup
tab, uncheck the boxes since none of those are required.

2. If that doesn't help, then try a different keyboard.

I've previousouly deleted them. but will check again.
Thanks.
Also I haven't used MSconfig in a long while since I found this tool
from this guy way back when he was in college. check it out.

Mike Lin has been around for a long time and his Startup Control Panel
is still useful, particularly with Win2k boxen.
