Scheduling Hibernate on XP

Does anyone know how to schedule Windows XP to hibernate? I have set up my
power management options but something running in the background seems to
make the OS think that the session is not idle. So I was wondering if there
is an EXE that I can schedule off Windows Scheduler to force the hibernate?

Thanks

You should find out what's stopping hibernate. Have a look in computer
managemet | event viewer to see if there is something listed as stopping
hibernate. If nothing is shown try disabling your startup programs and see
if hibernate works. Once you find out what program is stopping it you can
decide what to do. There is a little app from Steve Gibson called Wizmo
which can hibernate a computer via a shortcut on the desktop. It has a
number of useful functions but I don't know if it or anything else will
force any power option.

There are no events logged in any of the categories during the time when I
was not using the PC in question. I have a feeling that it is possibly
something to do with one of the following:

1) McAfee Personal Firewall or VirusScan - recently upgraded

2) An open network connection to a share on the PC - recent addition of
broadband router and have scheduled regular backup jobs to a shared
connection. All the jobs are finished running but some process may have a
connection/handle still open.

3) My open ADSL connection that some process or other is using to check for
updates etc.

Wizmo looks like it will do what I need in the short term but I'd still
prefer for the standard power management to take care of things. I'll to
bypass all startup options and see what happens from there.

Thanks anyway.
