How do I set up scheduling to automatically refresh an IE6 web page every few
minutes? And can I have it sound a tone if a certain condition occurs on the
refresh?

No. Well, not with IE by itself. You'll need something from a third party. I
Googled and this is the first link it spit out, I've never used the
application so I haven't a clue if it's any good or not but that's up to you
to find out if you want that functionality.

Thanks Galen. That sets me on the right track. I'll check it out. I was
hoping that WinXP/IE6 had the solution built in somewhere. Thanks

No problem. In the past I've used a browser that could be set to refresh
automatically (I don't think it sounded if the content had changed) but for
the life of me I don't recall which one it was and don't tend to use
alternate browsers any longer.

Hi John :-)

You don't mention the version of Windows you are using. I don't know if
this is what you are looking for, but, you might have a look at the
Auto-Refresh section here and see if you have this feature in your version
of IE:

Auto-Refresh WebPages in IE
http://www.winferno.com/help/SecureIE2004/refresh_web_pages.aspx

As for sounds, you can check in the Start>Control Panel>Sounds and
Multimedia (or whatever Icon is there for Sounds, and scroll down the list
of sound options until you find the action you want, the associate the sound
you want from the sounds list. The sounds options are rather limited, but,
you might find something close.

Hope this helps :-)

Jan - the site you mention is about a feature of a browser shell program
(Secure IE) that adds features to IE. IE has never had an auto-refresh
capability of it's own.

Oops! My bad. I misread the information. Thank you for the correction.
