scheduled tasks not responding

When I go to create a scheduled task the wizard freezes upon the first
Next button that I press. I must kill the program via Task Manager. I
have viewed the service through services.msc and it is set to Automatic
and is started. What else should I do to make it work?

Have a look at the item "Add Scheduled Task - reature is missing",
posted her just two hours ago. Wesley Vogel gave an excellent
summary of the various strategies you can use to fix this problem.

I have checked Services and it is set to start automatically already.
I also reinstalled it according to the instructions mentioned in the
previous post but it has been to avail. I continue to have problems
with that Control Panel applet and must kill the process through the
Task Manager. Any other ideas please?
