Is it possible to schedule tasks [e.g. Backup] with a blank p/w?
Some advice I received was to go to Local Policies and DISABLE the option
*limit using blank passwords to logon....* but I've tried this and the
scheduler still refuses to launch the task because of *an incorrect
password*.
I've tried it with both options enabled/disabled and with re-boots before
re-attempting to set up the scheduled task but it fails every time.
We are working on a small peer-peer network and do not the security
(hassle?) of passwords but would very much like to do daily backups of
certain data to a stand-alone machine.

Anyone else with similar experience and , if so, how did you overcome it?

TIA
Craig

It was the *kellys-korner* page that states that by disabling the *limit
using blank passwords to logon .....* this problem can be worked around.
Could it be that this is old info and is no longer valid in a system with
all the latest windows updates?
