Hi!

Suddenly i've been having problems with a scheduled task on an XP
Profesional box. The task started to fail with an error message:
0x8004130f: No account information could be found in the Task
Scheduler security database for the task indicated.

If i create a new task that is identical to the failing one except for
the name it ran fine for one day and then it started to fail agian :(
Everything seems fine until it suddenly stops working, the running
user don't have administrator rights and it shouldn't need it. The
password hasn't been changed. The task is created on the machine that
is running the task. Anyone got any ideas whats wrong or what i can do
about it?

Thanks in advance.

Daniel

Hi Daniel,

I've run across this problem before as well. I have many
tasks that running daily and suddenly all the tasks will
stop running and produce the same message as you've
seen. I looked up this error under Windows support and
Microsoft apparently knows about this under Windows
2000. Here is the exact text taken from their site

"In a rare combination of circumstances, the credential
database that Task Scheduler uses may become corrupted.
The credentials are removed when the corruption is
detected. The user interface shows the current user name
in the job properties when you open a job after it loses
its credentials."

The resolution for this is to apply the latest Windows
2000 service pack, however, there is nothing for Windows
XP. Very frustrating. Sorry I can't provide more info.

Jeff
