Prolly a stupid query, but couldn't find it in the archives.

Does XP have the equivalent of scanreg /opt/fix as in W98 ?

No, XP does not have scanreg.exe.

No. This utility was last available in Windows ME.
 
windows xp the commands are: chkdsk/? chkntfs/?
chkmbr/? sfc/? reg/? type help for more commands.
