scanpst.exe error

My outlook.pst file is corrupt. I followed the Knowledge
Base instructions, did a chkdsk, renamed the file.

When I try running scanpst.exe on the renamed file, I get
this error:

An unexpected error prevented access to this file. Use
ScanDisk to check the disk for errors, and then try using
the Inbox Repair Tool again.


The problem here is that I'm running Windows XP
Professional and ScanDisk is not available.

I also cannot copy or move the file. But I can rename it.

Any suggestions?

Version of OL? size of pst?
If you cannot copy or move it might suggest that the file is locked/in use
Have you checked that there are no instances of OL in tasks/running apps?
