Version\Setup i got C:\I386 (i copied the i386 folder from my winxp-cd) and
at
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\Current Version\Setup i got
C:\. and it still asks for the win.xp-cd and when i try to run sfc/scannow
and when i put it in it says i have the wrong winxp-cd.
am i missing something or have i entered the wrong information?
help this old man out if you can.
thanks

In Regedit - Edit - Find,
Typing - sourcepath,
You should see SourcePath in the right side of the page,
double click it to change the drive letter.

If I386 is on C: drive, do not add I386, just C: by itself.
Example - You should see - Sourcepath REG_SZ C:\

Just change SourcePath to the drive letter of your CD drive and have the cd
installed when you run SFC /SCANNOW

thanks , sure do appreciate the help.
