Scanner won't Scan

hi. i installed the scanner. wizard says installation
complete. restart computer. did all of that twice. sacnner
does not show in hardware menu, but clicking on scanner
icon on the desktop opens the scanner window with tool
bars. what should I do? Oh, yeah... ERROR MESSAGE: Scanner
not found... plug... usb? and enable BIOS? Thanks for your
help.

help.

There could be a device driver conflict. Disconnect any other USB devices
that you are not currently using. Un plug and replug the scanner then try it
again.

The general order to install a USB scanner is to leave the scanner
unattached until after you install the software...reboot if necessary then
attach the USB cable and let Windows find the drivers you just installed.
BTW, did you plug the scanners' power supply into a wall outlet?

Plugging into an electrical source isn't always necessary. My scanner
gets its power from the USB port; hence I have it plugged into a
powered USB hub.
