Scanner Problems

My HP psc 750 won't scan from the front panel or through HP Director( but will copy and print) but will through the Control Panel. I have just installed it on my new computer with XP and it previously worked fine with 98. I have followed HP's suggestions but without success. Any ideas?
 
Maybe the compatability wizard & set it for win98?
