scanner help from an older scanner to xp

hello im having a problem installing an older scanner
that ran on windows 98 its a sacanjet 4200 and the
software states it does not support windows 95 and NT i
have downloaded a patch but can not find the patch where
do i look for it at???
 
Look on the HP website for drivers/software - if there are
none for XP, use the ones for Windows 2000.

Mines a Scanjet 3200c, an older model than yours, and it
works fine now with XP.

I have a Umax UC630 that isn't supposed to run on Win95
or later but with some experimenting got it to work on Win98
and XP Pro so it pays to try various drivers if possible.
If I understand you correctly you downloaded a patch but
don't know where on your PC this is now located.
I don't know your hardware setup but if you try to download
it again, or any file for that matter and make a note of where
the download requester is saving the file then that is where
it will be. You can then run Windows Explorer to locate the
file.

Go here to download XP driver for ScanJet 4200 Precision Scan LT. It's a German
site, but the driver will work OK.
