scanned images

I scanned images into my powerpoint presentation and when I open the presentation there is a box with an icon but image doesnot appear. How can I get them to reappear?
 
Not sure what you did, but the correct way is to scan the image to an image
file (preferably a JPG). Save that file to your hard drive. Switch to
PowerPoint, click "Insert", "Picture", "From file". browse to the folder
where your scanned image is and select it.
