Scaned document to edit in word 2000

How do you edit a scanned document in word 2000.

I scanned a document into woord and would like to edit it.
 
You have scanned it as a picture. To convert it to editable text, you will
need to run it through an OCR program. You probably got some such program
with your scanner.
