I own Microsoft XP and i keep getting messages that says
my registry has errors in it and so i was trying tp run
scandisk but i can find it on my computer. Is it hidden
somewhere because I can't find it. Thanks.

Hi, CoolGuy.

ScanDisk is not included in WinXP, but ChkDsk is, and it does the same
thing.

You can run ChkDsk in at least a couple of ways. One is to open a "DOS"
window or the Run prompt, type chkdsk d: (or whatever drive you want to
check) and press Enter. The other way is to click My Computer, right-click
on Drive D: (or whatever), then click Properties, then the Tools tab, then
Check Now... If you are trying to check the system partition or boot
volume, you may need to tell it to do the check next time you reboot, rather
than immediately, since that drive will be in use.

If you get lost in my instructions, just Search for chkdsk in the WinXP Help
and Support file.

Go to My Computer, click on your hard drive, right click on Properties,
click on Tools. It's called Error Checking and you may have to reboot to
have it take effect.
