scandisk and defrag?

I would like to install a game, and it is recommended to scandisk and defrag. Every time I go to "Run" and type in cleaningr or scandisk, it says it cannot find it or to check spelling and retype. I would like to know how to start these. Thanks

click on my computer, right click c drive on select properties, click on
tools and they are both there, click on check now to scan disk. you will
get a box pop up telling you that it cannot start do you wish to scan disk
on next boot, select yes and restart, windows will check disk on restart.
when completed defrag.

There is no scandisk , rather, there is checkdisk
go to Start > Run and type chkdsk /r
It'll ask you if you want to run it at next reboot, press y and reboot

For defrag, go to Start > Run and type dfrg.msc
