Scan Disk will not run

Help Me Please, My scan disk will not run at all,I'am also missing mant help
files.I have my windows XP Cd. Can I use this to restore my help files and my
scan disk?
 
Windows XP doesn't have scandisk like Win9x does. To check your drives open
Windows Explorer, right-click a drive and select properties. Select Tools
and Error Checking -> Check Now.

Which help files are you missing? I'm not clear on what your refering to.
 
If you are refering to error checking (scan disk is
available in windows xp), You have to reboot. error
checking can't work with windows up. So do your error
checking and reboot. That might fix your help files too.
