Hi,

I cannot schedule boot time scan with my scan disk.

I am keep getting a message at every boot even thought I scheduled
once.Error message : Cannot open volume for direct access.

I understand some security softwaremay interfere with the performance of the
scan disk such as antivirus if it is enabled load at system startup.

I disabled all my security software and tried but still having problems.

Any suggestions? Thanks in advance and please suggest me something that will
really work

Thank you.

Hi TaurArian,

Thanks for the reply.Directed me to the source. I have windows xp
professinal service pack 2 installed. According to the article I should get
the appropriate service pack to correct the problem. Since already have the
correct service , what should I do next?

Thank you.
