Dear Experts,
Is there a simple way to schedule these tasks to be
performed? I looked at Task Scheduler Wizard and
Defragmenter is not listed. Any help appeciated!
Thank You,
Robert

Robert;

Scandisk is called Error Checking in XP.
Double-click My Computer | Right click hard drive | Properties | Tools tab
| Check both boxes |OK your way out.
You have to reboot for chkdsk to run.
This actually schedules chkdsk to run at the next boot.

For a peek at the log.
Start | Run | Type: eventvwr | OK
Look in Application | Listed as Information
under Winlogon, Event 1001
=============

To run Disk Defragmenter as a Scheduled Task, go to
Start/Programs/Accessories/System Tools/Scheduled Tasks/Add Scheduled Task.
Enter DEFRAG.EXE C: -F where C is the drive you wish to defragment.

The -F switch forces defragmentation of the volume regardless of whether it
needs to be defragmented.

Dear Wesley,
How do I enter this DEFRAG.EXE C: -F to be done? If I
click on browse and try to enter this in box as program
to be scheduled get message that not valid program.
Sorry to be so dense.

Robert
