When I create a shortcut to the desktop from a web page
it usually has an icon for that page. When I clear the
internet files I lose that icon and it changes to the IE
icon. How do I save those web page icons?
I can click properties of those icons and see where the
icon can be changed but can't figure out how to save an
icon to the group where it could be replaced after
clearing the files.
Thanks, msufan

Open your Temporary Internet Files folder ("C:\Documents and
Settings\<account>\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files"), scroll through
items until you find what you want with the file type as Icon. Then
right-click on the filename and click on Copy. Paste where wanted. I have
a specific folder for this Then go to the internet shortcut, right-click it,
select Properties>Change icon button>Browse to locate the folder and icon.
