Saving Sent Attachments

I use OL2000 (IMO). When I send a message with an attachment, a duplicate of the attachment is kept with the message in the "Sent" folder. This seems to be a waste of disk space. For now, I must go into the "Sent" folder and manually remove the attachment from the message. Is there a way I can automatically prevent attachments from being saved with my 'sent' email?

There are housekeeping tools to help with this, but nothing built in. See
