I have several games programs that have been downloaded/installed from the net.
I'm creating a new partition for games only.
Q. how can i save ONLY the games that have been installed previously so that
they will run on this new partition?

Note. some of these games can not be downloaded again.(suppliers out of
business)

Unfortunately you need the original installation medium, whether CD or
..exe file.....

Can i not just save the program folders and registry?

if you do a google, you will come up with some utilities that say they
will MOVE already installed programs to another drive. You could try one
or two of those, but I think you will find that it may be a rather
hit-and-miss affair....

Not entirely true...

All the registry settings made by the the installer can be changed to allow
the program to run from a new location. The problem is of course finding all
the right values. There might also be some absolute paths in .ini or other
settings files that need to be changed. Luckily though, most programs are
created smart enough to use relative paths.

Another way is if you have all your games in a separate folder.
1. Rename the games folder
2. Create a new partition and mount it as a directory with the same name
as the original games folder
3. Copy everything from the old (renamed) games folder to the new
partition/folder.
I believe you must use NTFS for this to work.
