Saving Powerpoint Files

I have a Powerpoint File (2.65MB) with 166 slides. This
file also has macros and some links associated with it.
When I am inside the corporate network, I can save the
file (both locally and on the network drive) without any
problems. When I am outside the network connected via VPN
(either with dial-up or high speed) I am unable to save
this file (neither locally nor on a network drive). It
just freezes the laptop.

Any ideas?

Thanks

Debu

This is a shot in the dark, but PPT is very fussy about having a printer driver
available. If you use network printer drivers at work, you might not have
access to them over the VPN.

Verify that you have a local (ie, on your own PC, always available) printer
driver installed and set as default. It doesn't even need to be connected to a
physical printer; just having the driver there is enough (but it might be more
convenient to install a driver for one of the printers you use at the office
and connect it to the sharename of the printer so you can use it normally when
connected).
