Saving pictures

For the past few days, whenever I right-click on a picture to save it to
disk, I only have the option of saving as a .bmp even if I know the original
picture in a .jpg

This is whether I'm using explorer or in newsgroups.

Any ideas?

I'm using windows XP.

Mentioned here several times daily. Drop by frequently, and use SEARCH.

Control Panel|INTERNET OPTIONS...
Delete TEMP INTERNET FILES, including local content, and see if that fixes it.
