hello all,

i am just starting to use outlook 2002 since it makes it possible to
sync stuff with my new pda. But i miss something important from my
old PINE/MUTT client.well among other things that is.

with pine and mutt i used to be able to save emails from and to a
particular contact in a folder named with username of the contact, for
instance if my contact was "(e-mail address removed)" all
mails to and from this person would be saved to a folder named
"firstname.lastname". I would not have to do anything special or even
type the whole thing, i just hit 'save' and it offers to save it to
the correct folder. similarly when i compose email to that person the
client automatically puts a copy in the correct folder.

I want to be able to do the samething with outlook. right now i have
to do the "move to folder" and scroll down all the way to the correct
folder. also there is practically no way of saving outgoing mail to
the correct folder. I could acomplish a similar thing by using message
rules but then incoming mail will be sorted into some folder before i
even get a chance to read it and i would have to create a rule for
each individual contact i corrspond with. Also I currently have a huge
amount of mail on my imap server already sorted into named folders as
i described above. I am looking for some feature in outlook y which i
can hit save and the mail is saved to the correct folder and also to
be able to set FCC folder accordingly.

thanks in advance.

you'll need a 3rd party utility - exlife (www.ornic.com) can do it.

thanks much for the response, i have just downloaded the evaluation
version from the website you pointed to ...

thanks again
