saving images

I can no longer save an image found on the net or attached to an email to a
file on my desktop...
 
Hi,

What exactly happens when you attempt to save an image, or while attaching to email? And which email client?

sorry I wasn't more clear. When I right click the image (for instance an
image from Google image search) then left click and select "save as" a
window appears where I can choose where I want to save it to. When I click
save in that window nothing happens...the download manager which used to
appear indicating that the download was finished doesn't show up.

Just a guess but are you using msn 9?

Try clearing the temporary internet files cache.

1. Start Internet Explorer
2. On the Tools menu, click Internet Options.
3. Click the General tab.
4. Under Temporary Internet files, click Delete Files.
5. When you are prompted to delete all temporary Internet files, click OK.

Also, disable third-party download managers if you're using any.
