I would like to know how to make (Saving Form Results to E-Mail will not work
unless either the "SMTPHost" or "SendmailCommand" server configuration
parameters are set) go away when trying to have data from a form emailed in
FrontPage 2002.

Please restate your issue.

The above message appears in the Component Errors report for the page
containing the form.

The host must configure the FP extensions to process email from forms. The site must be published to
a server that has the FP extensions via FP's File Menu | Publish Web / Site command to
http://www.domainname.com and when testing the form, you must test in the browser via
http://www.domainname.com/pagename.htm

I get this error message as soon as I create the form. FrontPage has no idea
where I will be publishing my site.

Disregard the message when you save the form locally. The message will not appear once you have
publish the form to a server that has the FP extensions and have been configured to send email.

When a user presses [Submit] on my form, he gets a response of page not
found. It is looking for "_derived/nortbots.htm", and I don't know how to
make this and other such generated pages resident on the server.

Open the form on the live/remote site in FP, make a change and save, then run Tools | Recalculate
Hyperlinks.

You probably think you are dealing with a complete idiot, but as best I can
tell, FrontPage won't let me open the web on the provider's server.

You can only open the site directly on the remote server, if the server has the FP extensions. If
the server doesn't have the FP extensions, then form and few other FP run-time features will not
work.

To open a web on a remote server, use File Menu | Open Web / Site and enter
http://www.yourdomainname.com then enter your login info, click Ok, then click Open.

Thank you for your efforts, but still no success. I will continue to have
forms on my web site that can be filled-in by users, but they cannot use the
[Submit] button. They are instructed to copy the entire page into an e-mail
addressed to the intended recipient, instead. Not very elegant, but it gets
the job done.
