C:\Documents and Settings

Look for a folder with your name on it, open it, you'll see the
"favorites" folder........Copy them somewhere externally and when you do
a clean install copy them back.

MS made it easy to do this. Simply launch IE on your old system and then click
on File > Import and Export Wizard, then Export your Favorites to a floppy disk
(or any temp folder for burning later to a CDR). It will generate a small file
called Bookmark.htm. This file can then be Imported back into the system using
the same Wizard on your new system and your Favorites will be recreated.

You could use the same routine for the cookies, in case you access any websites
that required a signup.

P.S. Turn off your capslock...it's considered as shouting in a newsgroup.

Best way you've described. One of my favorites has a descriptor and link
that's too long. A copy of it just glitches windows explorer. No problem
on the export fashion of saving. The resulting import of that exported file
shows all and recovered all.
