Saving drive space

What size is the C drive?
I assume no other hd installed, or any seperate partition?
In Internet Options, set IE temp folder to 50mb

Harddrive is 2 GB, less than 300 MB free, one partition, NTFS, XP Pro,
300MHZ processor,

The poster is debating about compressing the drive. He has uninstalled all
possible apps., defragged, cleaned of spyware/adware, is looking into
turning of whatever log files he can, reduced sys.restore to a min. size,
turned of hibernation.

If drive C: is compressed can it be decompressed later if system performance
is to slow?

Any other ways of gaining more free space? (Other than getting a bigger or
additional drive that is)

I have my doubts that with that size HD the PC would be much use for any
meaningfull apps, other than perhaps web browsing.
You can delete uninstall files for win updates, shown in the win folder as
eg $NtUninstallKB123456
Assuming win is OK, delete oldest ones, you wont be able to uninstall these
after.
In Add/Remove dialogue, win components remove ones not required
You can compress older unused files
