Saving changes to registry values

There are a number of 'features' in XP that I always want to change or
disable when installing a new system that require editing registry values
(disabling the irritating 'balloon help' or 'tooltips' and increasing the
number of Recent Documents are two that spring to mind).

Editing the necessary values is easy, but since this is something I want to
do for every installation, I'd like to be able to save the modified values
and import them in one go. This would save time and streamline the
customisation process.

Is it possible?

How can I do this?
