Saving Changes to Attachments

If I insert a Word document as an attachment to an email, then open up the
attachment and make changes, and finally save the changes, the changes are
not saved in the original Word document. Until recently I've been using
Outlook Exchange, which saves the changes to both the orignal Word document
and to the attachment at the same time. Is it possible to configure Outlook
to do this?

what version of outlook did you use before and what version do you use now?

if changes are saved depends on a number of factors and is also affected by
the autosave (to drafts) feature. newer versions of outlook use the
securetemp folder and the changes are likely saved to the document there.
