Saving and then Applying a filter on a form

I am having trouble saving and then applying a filter on a form.
This is what I am doing:
In form view, I create a filter/query in the Advanced Filter/Sort window.
I then select "save as query"
When I then try to apply this saved query by clicking on Load from Query,
the query that I have just saved is not listed in the filter box for me to
select.
 
I would really like to be able to run the filter from the form view so that
the data is displayed in a helpful format for the user. My user would be
confused if I had to show him/her how to go to the query, then run it, and
then they would see the results in a table-type view rather than the form
that they are accustomed to.
