Hello
Everything I scan and all pictures I save are
automaticly turned into desktop backgrounds. The pictures
can be saved from e-mail or wimdows.
I think the problem started when I was scanning a
lot of pictures, Got irritated with the dialog box that
kept asking me if I wanted to do this function every
time. I think I clicked on "Do this action very time" and
then clicked "Don't show me this again".
Don't have a "System Restore" point before this
problem started.
This is my first computer. Have looked thru all
the "properties" and "Options" I can find. But cannot
find a solution.
Hope someone can help. Thanks. Dave.

If you're really stuck and a novice, the easiest solution might be to remove
and reinstall the scanning software. Go to start>control panel>add/remove
programs>clickon the scanner software and follow directions. Then reinstall it
from the CD that came with the scanner.

Dave,

What I believe is happening is that all your images are being saved into
your "My Pictures" folder.

If you don't want them visible from within the "desktop background" list,
just save them to another folder.

eg. from Outlook Express, click on paperclip icon on the message with the
image you want to save, then click on "Save Attachments.." menu item and
then change the folder name visible in the "Save to" box rather than just
clicking on the "Save" button which will save the file into whatever has
been previously set as the "image" folder (ie whatever folder name is
currently visisble in the "Save to" box.)

HTH

Rob.
