Save Session Settings mid-session ?

Hello. While for the most part I've tamed XP Pro (SP2) to do my bidding,
one thing still eludes me. Is it possible to force a settings save in
the middle of a session? I rarely shutdown my primary system, and
sometimes I've changed how my desktop toolbars (like side bars) appear
or how content is arranged in them. Or changed other things that only
get properly saved when you reboot.

Nothing is more frustrating then getting things the way you like, only
to have things messed up by explorer.exe getting killed (which happens
rarely enough but can be annoying after I've spent my time arranging
things or so) and resetting it self, a long with anything I've tweaked
recently.

Is there a shortcut or other commandline switch or so for forcing a
setting save?

Thank you.

Come on this has to be possible? I'm just talking about invoking the
"save setting" procedure, that occurs when you shutdown/restart windows,
at any time you please. I know it can be a lengthy process, thats fine
with me, I just want to do it manually whenever.

Thanks.
