save messenger history

I had previously saved the msn history, but since my we have reformatted the computer and downloaded messenger again I don't have the option under "Options". Is this because msn 7 doesn't have it or it is somewhere else

Actually this option was added in MSN Messenger 6.x, which you'll need to install separately:
