Save in/out mail through identy of mail and in/out mailboxes

Outlook suggestion. Give save-inboxes an unique identifying number and do the
same for save-outboxes. Connect an inbox with an outbox through the number.
Give incoming mail the identification of a save-inbox, Outlook places the
unread mail directly in the save-inbox. When you answer a mail with
identification number, Outlook places the sent mail directly in the
save-outbox with the same identifying number.

Why? For what arcane purpose would the vast majority of users use this?
