Save changes to Normal.dot

I'm working with Outlook 2003 and sometimes after closing it asks if I want to save the changes to Normal.dot. I always say NO but why is it asking me this? All I'm doing is reading and writing emails
 
Don't use Word as your email editor and this should go away. Uncheck this under Mail Format.
 
Select Yes for a change? Outlook settings, add-ins, printer settings are
just a couple of sources that could trigger normal.dot modifications.
