Save behavior while in Edit/Enter mode

Excel's save behavior is different on my home pc from its behavior at
work.

At home, Excel will save the document even if I'm in edit or enter mode
in a cell. At work, where we have a document management system, Excel
will only save when in Ready mode.

Is this an Excel setting (I've dug around and cannot locate such) or is
it due to the docs management integration?

I use xl2003 and I can save while I'm editting a cell (although the save
actually gets me out of edit mode).

Are you using two different versions of excel? (I don't recall the behavior of
earlier versions.)

If you post that, maybe someone with that version can test it.

I'm using Excel 2002 in both locations.
At work it is integrated with PCDOCs Version 3.9.6 by Hummingbird
At home it is running natively

I don't have a guess, but if you (temporarily) disable the pcdocs (if possible),
does the behavior go back to "normal"?

If yes, I'd say it was PCDOCS that was the cause.
