Steve

Has anyone had an issue with this and does anyone have a solution.
This is very hard to get rid of . I have uninstalled Microsoft Office,
Business Contacts, etc... I am very frustrated and would appreciate
any help that I can get.

Thanks,
Steve

It actually occurs in other programs but usually only in Outlook and
Act!2006. We run the same software on three different computers in our
office. This is the only computer that acts this way. Also, Microsoft
support was trying to help us and they had suggested to uninstall
Microsoft Office and reinstall it. We haven't gotten a response back
from the for the last two weeks and it is becoming intollerable.

Thanks,

What confuses me is that you stated that you uninstalled Office and now you
state that the Save As is happening in Outlook. How? Outlook is part of
Office and should be uninstalled.

If you read my last note I stated that Microsoft had me to uninstall it
then reinstall it.

Sorry ... I misinterpreted ... you said Microsoft suggested ti uninstall and
reinstall ... and I didn't know whether or not you followed their
suggestion?

Do you have any third-party apps on your system like FileEx?

When you uninstalled Office, did it still happen?

BTW, which Office (XP, 2003, 2007)?

What happens if you do absolutely nothing on the system? Does it pop-up as
well out of the blue?

I do have ACT!2006 which links to Outlook. We have Microsoft Office
2003 Professional with Small Business Contacts and Accounting. The one
thing that you have to keep in mind is that we have 3 computers with
all of the same software running. I have only one computer that I am
having this problem with. Also, you can cold boot the computer and
just leave it there and after a while it will just pop up out of the
blue. Without opening a program it usually takes longer for it to
happen but it does. The only thing that I haven't tried is to
completely uninstall Small Business. I learned earlier this year that
it digs in deep into the system and is not easily removed. I had to do
this in order to get ACT operational. I do appreciate you discussing
this with me.

Thanks,

I was so hoping that it would pop-up on that system when idle. Now you can
run monitoring software and actually see who is causing the pop-up.

Do you have Filemon and Regmon from www.sysinternals.com?

Filemon will monitor all file accessing on the system and show you who's
doing what.
Regmon is the same but for the registry.

If you start each program up on the PC, and leave it, when it eventually
pop-ups up, you can determine you is calling it.

You can also use a Windows Debugging tool to determine the File Handler and
then find out based on the File Handler, who owns it. That is also a tool
on www.sysinternals.com/
