Save As-- not responding

I have Works Suite 2002 with Word. Most of the time I try to "save as" a
new document (Document 1) the program stops responding in XP Pro. When I
start it again I get the option to recover the file but it stops responding
as well. Is this a bug which has a patch or some other issue that has
already been discovered and resolved?
