SAVE AS causes 1.2MB increase !?

I have a 5MB file running on excel 2000 SR1.

When I use Save As to make another copy of the file, the
new file grows by 1.2MB. (It should be the same size)

I now know the problem is somehow related to to a large
chart (Line Type with 21 columns by 3000 rows).
Note that the original file was created on excel 97.

This problem occurs with a number of my files.

How can I stop this size increase?
It is frustrating when I am trying to shrink a file so
that it fits on a floppy. (I know about Winzip)

Hi Nick,
Did you save the file and then without making more changes
use Save As and get the increase as you imply.

How are you using Save As as is or are you possibly changing the
file type dropdown to
"Microsoft Excel 97-2000 & 5.0/95 Workbook (*.xls)"
which is actually storing two copies of the worksheet for compatiblity.

Is Rob Bovey's Code cleaner involved in any way, because some
savings are only temporary until compiled which is how I think I've seen
it described..
