Is there a way to save, lock, or protect a particular System Restore created
after configuring my pc so that I could always roll back to it. It seems to
disappear after some weeks as if the newer creations push it out.
Thanks.

No, System Restore architecture does not allow that. System Restore was designed to monitor changes on files and system settings so it is imposible to keep any point forever.

If you want to create a snapshot of the system at a specific state and be able to revert to it in the future, take a look at cloning applications. Acronis True Image (www.acronis.com) is only an example.

No. Restore points are purged on a first in first out basis. They will
be kept up to a maximum of 90 days or purged sooner if the amount of
space allocated is reached. Turning off system restore causes all
restore points to be lost. Using disk cleanup removes all but the most
recent.

System restore should not be thought of as a traditional backup. Though
it will go back to a maximum of 90 days, in reality a couple of weeks
max is it's effective limit.

But Automated System Recovery does:

Cloning is good, not foolproof, but then nothing is. Best to use several
backup methods if the data is really important.

No. System Restore is not the same as a backup solution. It only permits
restoring the operating system. For that reason, it isn't effective to even
go back as far as you possibly can (90 days), since if you restored back
that far, the operating system would likely be out of synch with other files
on the drive.

push it out.

That's exactly what it does, except that exactly what "some weeks" means
depends on how much disk space you give it. The default of 12% of your drive
is usually way too much, and it's best to lower it to something around 2-3GB
