Saturday Sunday

Hi,
I have a sheet with dates and I´d like Saturdays and Sundays to be colored.
Is this Possible? I have tried Conditional formatting but have not succeded.

Select the column (say col. A), go to Format >
Conditional Formatting, select "Formula Is" in the
dropdown, and put:

=AND(WEEKDAY($A1,2)>5,$A1<>"")
