I have just built this computer. Tyan k8we s2895 motherboard with bios 1.03
and updated drivers. I have installed xp on a 250 gig hard drive
successfully. Did install the newest drivers. I see my nvida raid array
under device manager along with my separate 250 gig hard drive. How do I get
xp to assign it a drive letter and see in in my computer?

Thanks!

Leslie

You can partition, format and assign drive letters in Disk Management
Start|Run|diskmgmt.msc

Two physical hard drives is the minimum requirement to create a RAID Array.
If you installed XP on "a" 250 Gig drive, you do not have a RAID Array, ergo
Windows can not assign a drive letter to it.

I'm sorry, I was unclear. My os is on drive c, a separate hd from the two
250 hitachi drives in raid 0 (striped). I will try the disk management!
Thanks to you both.

Why not ?? I have two SATA hard drives in my computer, both set up as a
single RAID array. They exist happily as drives 'G' and 'H'.

Dave,

That solved it! Obviously I know much more about hardware than software,
but I'm trying to learn - thanks for teaching me.

You're welcome.
