Can you run a sata and a ide hard drive at the same time? I just installed a
new hard drive which is a sata in place of my existing ide drive and want to
know if I can run both so I can copy over my existing files.

Thanks

Absolutely, each (SATA/Traditional PATA) have their own independent
controllers. Usually, if the controllers are motherboard based you may
have optional settings in BIOS setup that control which ones are active.

Don't see why not. My desktop PC has two IDE drives, a DVD burner and a CD
burner hooked to the two IDE controllers. I also have two SATA drives used
for storage.
