I have 2X 160 Hd Sata and have Win xp pro installed on both, If I unplug
drive c wont boot to d drive, on a recent reformat of c drive it would not
want to boot to d drive un till i reformatted d again, I like the idea of 2
hds if 1 crashes i would have a backup drivebut as it is now if c goes d
drive is worthless, i would have to reformat both drives again. What am I
missing???? Any Ideas ??? Thank You . Rob H.

You need to look at re-doing the hard drive set ups with using RAID 1
(mirroring.) This will automatically switch the "dead" boot drive C to the
"spare" backup C:.

The XP install on D has it's boot files on C, so if you remove it it's not
going to boot. You may want to look at a better option as far as using the
2nd drive as a backup, such as imaging software.
