I am still trying to recover files from an e-machine (defunct) onto my
gateway. On the back of the e-machine harddrive which is a samsung HD it has
three possible setting for jumpers. The first set says lower32gb, the second
upper 32gb, and the third says32gb clip. Can anyone explain this (in laysmens
terms please). Thanks in advance.

Seems to me that you have posted this before in a newsgroup. Did you read the replies?

It is (Hard Drive) specific to the given E-machine

I have posted before concerning this drive but I had a specific question as
to how to set the jumpers. This was a new ( I thought) topic. Am I not doing
something I should? I am new to this forum so I am open to all suggestions.
Thank you in advance, and as you can tell I am a computer novice but learning
quickly thanks to all.

jock:
Here's Samsung's website displaying jumper settings for their various HD
models. See if it helps...
