I need to set up outlook to be used on a domain and when i
go home vpn from my local user acct. is there anyway to
set up outlook so that no matter whether i log on locally
or to my domain it will be exactly the same?

It sounds like you need to use Offline Folders and synch them to your
Exchange server at work, then use VPN to connect to Exchange to send/receive
after working offline.

I do this. At work, my mailbox is Exchange. I have a PST file into which I
move messages (there's a 50 Mb space restriction imposed on the mailbox, so
I have to move things to keep the usage down).

At home, I use a VPN client to connect into my work's network. Once the VPN
connection is in place, I open Outlook, which has the same Exchange service
defined (in exactly the same way) in the mail profile. In this case,
however, I have no PST defined, since, from home, I don't want to move any
messages from Exchange, just read, and maybe respond to them.

Brian.Tillman is the name, smiths-aerospace.com is the domain.

I don't speak for Smiths, and Smiths doesn't speak for me.
