Same Critical Update keeps needing to be installed ...

For the last three days, I've had the same critical
update for Windows Media Player stating it needs to be
installed ... it has the same ID code "Critical Update
for Windows Media Player Script Commands (KB828026)".
Also, when checking the setup for Automatic Updates, it's
all greyed out so that I can change the settings. Has
something happened to my installation to disable the
setup option for automatic update? If so, what can i do
to fix this?
 
Please note .. i am the ADMINISTRATOR ..

I consulted (Microsoft Knowledge Base Article - 328010)
and discovered that I am missing Automatic Update from my
Group Policy Settings. It's not located under
Administrative Templates - Windows Components. It is
totally missing ... I'm thinking this may have something
to do with WHY I cannot adjust my automatic update
settings. Please advise.
